Golden Marzipan joins Scottish Federation of Housing Associations

Golden Marzipan is delighted to become an associate member of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA). The SFHA have been very proactive in supporting digital inclusion for residents and encouraging digital transformation for housing associations.

Specialist change advisors to the housing sector, Golden Marzipan, were keen to secure associate status with SFHA having worked with Scottish providers and witnessed the impact and drive of the membership body, as Steve Dungworth, director of Golden Marzipan explains:

“Having worked with Edinburgh-based Blackwood Homes for some time and welcomed several Scottish housing providers to our network of regular Breakfast Briefings, we were impressed by the appetite for transformation demonstrated by the housing sector in Scotland. We are excited by how progressive the SFHA are and their commitment to inclusion, innovation and digital. Securing associate status means we can be part of this network of like-minded organisations and more importantly we can be part of conversations that aim to move the sector forward.”

“We are excited by how progressive the SFHA are and their commitment to inclusion, innovation and digital.”

This drive to develop the sector’s capacity for change is something that sits at the heart of Golden Marzipan’s ethos. Founded almost two years ago, this digital and change consultancy has a genuine desire to support social housing providers to thrive, describing one of its values as being ‘change activist’ and ‘creating a network of like-minded change activists who encourage and coach each other to improve’. Through their Breakfast Briefing network, around 800 housing professionals have so far joined debates on issues surrounding digital transformation, customer-centricity, and agile working, all with the intention of developing and improving the sector.

Associate status with SFHA will further support Golden Marzipan’s drive to influence sector improvements. The membership body describes how one of their strategic aims is to ‘enable positive change which no one organisation can do alone’. This was also something that motivated Golden Marzipan to join SFHA in line with their ambition to bring greater ICT Governance into the sector as Steve continues:

“ICT Governance is an emerging topic and it’s critically important. As the fusion between business and ICT develops, ICT is no longer just about service provision. Instead, ICT governance is much broader and concentrates on transforming ICT to meet the demands of the business and its customers. It’s imperative that we start to drive best practice across the sector when it comes to ICT Governance, and we are delighted that SFHA also recognised this need.

“Being an associate of SFHA will enable us to raise the profile of ICT Governance in social housing and we hope to grow our network of change activists who aim to transform the sector.”
